HBCU HIRE Initiative
The HBCU HIRE Initiative is a project initiated by TLN Worldwide Enterprises several years ago to generate recruitment and career opportunities for students of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU’s). Under TLN's lead, this agreement is extended to more than 80 companies with federal government contract portfolios to establish direct support of Livingstone College, Miles College and Southern University and A&M College System.
Each company is responsible for signing up in the Handshake recruitment system and committing to posting internship opportunities for students and permanent job opportunities for graduates and alumni under the federal government contracts the companies hold and win.
Companies are required to participate in panels, webinars or virtual events and/or one-on-one mentoring annually. Each company has also committed to annual reporting of their HBCU hiring efforts and has signed an agreement with TLN Worldwide Enterprises to participate in the HBCU HIRE Initiative.
In accordance with Executive Order 13779, the HBCU HIRE Initiative provides equitable
opportunities for HBCUs to participate in federal programs and increases the private-sector role in strengthening HBCUs.
